A TRUE Endeavor | Goat Hill Park

A TRUE Endeavor | Goat Hill Park

Note: The newest team member of team TRUE, Jon Taylor Sweet (@jontaylorsweet), recalls his recent experience at Goat Hill Park; his first TRUE photoshoot as a member of TRUE.

With 24 hours to kill in North County San Diego, we had to make each minute count. There's some absolutely unreal hidden gems all across the county; no chance we could experience them all in one day, but we did about as much as humanly possible. After syncing up with a few good buddies, we uncovered a hidden cement slab in Carlsbad (which we dubbed Carlslab - credit to Joel Parker) that called for a quick pitstop.

Ever try skating in golf shoes? Shouldn't be possible, right? The crew, all outfitted in the TRUE ECO Knit, tore up the slab for a solid hour with shoes no worse for the wear afterwards. We grabbed some unreal photography (that you wouldn't believe was from a golf company) and headed on our way to the scenic Goat Hill Park located in Oceanside, California.

Originally built in 1952 as a regulation length 9 hole par 36 layout, Center City Golf Course was the first golf course in San Diego county. The course was redesigned in the early 90‘s by Ludwig Keehn into an 18 hole short course and became known as "Goat Hill" to locals. It is loved for its ocean views, fresh breeze, authentic atmosphere, and raw golf feel. Quite simply, you will have a hard time finding a more challenging short course with as many unique holes anywhere in the country. - goathillpark.com

After an unthinkable skate session at the Slab, we trekked over to Goat Hill Park to hit the links; not changing our shoes once, mind you. To say this was an unforgettable experience would be an understatement. We rolled up to music blaring and an unrecognizable social experience that you typically wouldn't see at a golf clubhouse. Everyone was vibing with a beer in hand, listening to music and hitting balls at the range. You could also pay your green fees with Venmo; who would have thought?

After our round, which was easily one of my favorite golf experiences, we hopped on the scooters and departed Goat Hill Park.

Jamming down 101 looking at the sunset, on the back of a scooter, I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the TRUE family. Being able to experience golf with zero inhibitions is really something everyone should get a chance to do. I'm pumped to share some awesome content with everyone in the future (along with some unreal product drops...stay tuned) and get more folks out on the links. #makegolffunagain
